Mstar for Esme

Morningstar Mud for Esme Chicago

This year, I was honored by Chef Jenner Tomaska, and created a custom set of dishes for his Michelin star restaurant Esme, in Chicago!
The plates were a part of a special 14 course menu celebrating Kitchen Possible, a non profit organization in Chicago focused on building empowered mindsets with children through cooking. This special menu crafted by Chef Jenner was inspired by the mission statement and beliefs of Kitchen Possible, and a portion of the ticket price for the meal went back to Kitchen Possible!

The Dishes

The Esme dishes are a full page of my hand crafted, double sided, porcelain notebook paper. The dishes feature a hand written ingredient list for clam chowder from The Joy of Cooking. They were then used to serve guests an unbelievable course of corn 3 ways, corn on the cob, and of course, clam chowder!

Experiencing Esme!

On September 25, my sister and I took a trip to Chicago to experience the glory of Esme first hand - It was a truly magical experience! Each course was an absolute work of art both in unique presentation and delicious culinary delight! We laughed and smiled the entire meal, tasting each course with wonder and amazement. We joked that we felt like celebrities on Top Chef ;)

As I saw my dishes move around the restaurant topped with amazing food, I got teary eyed with joy. I watched in awe as others, dining around us, experienced, touched and read my art through Chef Jenner's creative vision. It was magical.
